With the move into the new Office of Equity and Inclusion, Title IX processes are being updated to ensure that students are more connected to the process and cases are handled more efficiently. UMBC has also updated their Sexual Misconduct policy in response to recent changes from the University System of Maryland (USM).

- Title IX/Human Relations staff have updated the Title IX policy following recommendations from the consultants’ report and the revised policy from the University System of Maryland (USM)
- UMBC’s Title IX policy was updated on August 14, 2020 when the revised guidelines were released by the Department of Education

- The Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) has created the Inclusion Council, a committee of 28 members from across campus. The Inclusion Council has been given the charge of providing advice and guidance from a variety of perspectives to OEI, to act as ambassadors for the office across campus, and to provide a venue for discussion of issues as they arise. The Council will hold monthly joint meetings with the University Steering Committee (USC) and the Campus Equity Advisory Council (CEAC), a subcommittee of the USC.
